Composition Project Primary sources act as a catalyst to inspire the making of original sociopolitical plays. As they compose their plays, students follow a list of enabling constraints that they must include in their performance. Each group is joined by one professional Epic actor as a guest performer and director as they prepare to perform these plays for their peers.
THE FREEDOM PROJECT In U.S. History classrooms, students use a Constitutional amendment as the focus of a performance piece that explores the question “What should be the limits of our freedom?” Students make a deep personal connection between the law and their own lives as they connect their individual artistry to their exploration of the amendments; they further their development as Citizen Artists.
