Epic is always seeking energetic, passionate creative thinkers for various part-time and full-time internship positions. We will consider providing a Monthly Unlimited Metrocard to full-time interns, and college credit is available, to be negotiated with the student's school.

Education/Stage Manager Internship

Work directly with Epic's Shakespeare Remix after-school program in the Bronx at Bronx High School for Writing and Communication Arts. We are looking for a responsible, organized, energetic recent college graduate or current college student who is available from 3-6pm to work in the . This intern would be the stage manager for the Remix production. Intern will write down stage directions, create personal but professional relationships with the students, stand in for student actors who are absent, memorize fight choreography, help students memorize their lines, go over blocking with students, analyze and decode Shakespeare's text, and observe and take notes from the director. During the week of tech, this intern will call the show and oversee the booth as well as the two student board operators. This is an educational internship so there will be training as needed. Time commitment: ~9 after-school hrs. per week.

Must be available to work on the following dates for tech week and performance:

Monday Dec 13th through Friday Dec 17th  from 4pm-10pm and Saturday Dec 18th from 10am-10pm

Development Intern

Report to: Director of Development

Position: Part-time (20 hrs. per week). One position for Summer 2010. One position for Fall 2010.

Work closely with the Director of Development in all areas of development, donor relations, event planning/implementation, special projects, and file organization. Job duties include but are not limited to the assistance and coordination in the following areas of development:

Individual Appeals

  • Research individual donors and prospects
  • Help prepare mailings
  • Gift processing and thank you letters
  • Data entry and file organization

Institutional Requests

  • Assist in organizing development materials and information
  • Assist with report and proposal preparation
  • Research foundation, corporation and government prospects

Cultivation/Events/Stewardship

  • Help coordinate and follow-up with all Special Events
  • Communicate with certain vendors for Special Events
  • Assist with event planning/coordination, invitations and attendee tracking

Each intern will be encouraged to propose a specific longer-term project that will be theirs throughout the course of the internship.
