Stage Manager/ Teaching Artist Intern: This internship works directly with our Shakespeare Remix after-school program in Brooklyn at Frances Perkins Academy. We are looking for a responsible, organized, energetic post-graduate intern or possibly college intern who would be available after-school hours (3pm-6pm) in Brooklyn. This intern would be the stage manager to the director. This includes writing down stage directions, creating personal but professional relationship with the students, standing in for student actors who are absent, memorizing fight choreography, helping students memorize their lines, going over blocking with students, analyzing and decoding Shakespeare’s text. As well as observing and taking notes from the director. During the week of tech this intern will be calling the show and overseeing the booth as well as the two student board operators. This is an educational internship so there will be training if all of these skills are not acquired.
