Passion Coalition Festival Underway!

The Passion Coalition Festival kicked off on March 23 with "Passion Action," a Fort Greene community event at the Irondale Center where local artists and residents shared songs, spoken word, live music, readings and discussion about devotion, faith and religion. We had a performance by the Lafayette Inspirational Ensemble perform two moving songs accompanied by a pianist, readings from WIDOWER'S HOUSES performed by Jacob Ming-Trent, James Wallert, Godfrey L. Simmons, Jr. and Darci Fulcher, performances on the harmonica and guitar by Seth & Asher Baumrin, a sneak peek at James Wallert's new musical SAVE EL CIDa spoken word piece by Velez Moore and a scene from Epic's upcoming production of Sarah Ruhl's PASSION PLAY, performed by Hale Appleman and Kate Turnbull.

What exercises can help me lose whgiet and tone up?I don't like team sports and can't afford a gym. I walk to and from school everyday (about 2 kilometres each way) often with a heavy bag due to lots of school books. I can work out on the Wii Fit for a lot of time each day is this enough? Diet wise I have a huge sweet tooth and I'm generally a very picky eater. It's the middle of winter here in Australia so it's even more difficult. So any advice on this? I ca'nt go without chocolate or at least something sweet so any tips for getting around this or things really sweet I can still eat? My idea is this (generally)Breakfast: Porridge/rolled oats (you can buy them in packets and heat in the microwave) with a little bit of honey on top for a little flavour and a glass of orange juice. I'd put a chopped banana on it but since the Queensland floods they've been priced like $10.00 for 3 bananas because all the bananas plantations got destroyed so it's not a viable option and all other fruits I like would not go in rolel oats ie summer fruits and not too readily available right now. Recess/Mid morning snack: In Australia we have recess at schools (I'm 17) all the way through but for me right now it's easier to bring processed foods etc as it's quicker. My thoughts are to bring containers of yogurt (peach and mango or raspberries and cream) with wholegrain biscuits or similar. A small bowl of yogurt or a couple of wholegrain crackers with a slice of tomato and maybe cheese (?) would suffice. OR a bowl of tinned baked beans with two pieces of wholemeal toast with Vegemite and orange juice.Lunch: Wholemeal bread (for fibre) with some salad stuff. I generally don't like lettuce and most salad things but if I put cheese and chicken for example and tomato and concentrate on that more I can stomach the lettuce . though it is not pleasant for me. Or a Vegemite sandwich, Vegemite is quite good for you. OR make a hot meal like soup, noodles or even something like spaghetti or gnocci and keep it in a hip flask to have a hot meal. I could buy it from the canteen but that adds up money wise and I dn't know what they've put in it if I cook it myself then I know. After school snack (because I'm always ravenous when I get home): Smoothies of skim milk, yogurt (probably strawberry yogurt but maybe raspberries and cream or peach and mango depending on what I have available) with these frozen things that are banana, all kinds of berries and kiwi fruit in these frozen blocks which you use with blenders). And maybe a few squares (1 or 2) of high cocoa dark chocolate as I'm a chocolate fanatic. Dinner: Whatever is given which is usually lasagna, fish and chips, pattie,s rice, curry, roast (usually lamb or chicken) .Dessert: SkipExercise: Wii fit. I can go through all the Wii Fit exercises each day in the holidays but when school goes back I obviously won't have time and will be walking to and from school anyway so that's some exercise. I can personalise workouts on there and for someone who wants to generally lose whgiet and tone up upper arms, butt, tummy, thighs and calves what excercises are best and should be highest priority? Also what are some tips to help with motivation as i'm not the sporty type so giving up is a definite worry and I'm a huge sweet tooth so that's a worry too!

Cute. We call these Hundreds and Thousands here, rather than frkeelcs.I don't like brown rice or wholemeal flour either. My parents never fed us wholemeal flour or brown rice so if it's any phobia, it's the opposite of yours.Mixing wholemeal and white sounds like a good compromise. The only time I baked with wholemeal, I made these awful muffins. I only tried 1 and didn't finish it. My husband ate 5 of them before declaring defeat. I think that is love.
