S. BRIAN JONES, Education Programs Manager
S. Brian Jones has over 18 years of expertise in program development and arts education. He has served as a Teacher in Residence and Arts Educator/Administrator with schools, regional theatre companies and social service agencies. He has also conducted credential training workshops for teachers with Delaware Institute for Arts in Education. He has served as an advocate for Arts Education within the educational and government systems, presenting for the San Diego City Council on the importance of Arts Education in the classroom. Since relocating to New York, Mr. Jones has worked with the 1199 SEIU Child Care Corporation, Free Arts NYC and most recently with Inside Broadway conducting professional residencies in New York middle and elementary schools. Mr. Jones received Bravo's Excellence in Arts Education Award for his Playwright in the Prison program while at Delaware Theater Company and was recognized in the press for his work with chronically ill children and teens, as well as mentally challenged teens and young adults. In addition, he and the students of "The Place," a high school for homeless, runaway and transitional teens, were featured on NBC's KNSD Channel 12 San Diego for their show "Perceptions." Mr. Jones is the recipient of the Dr. Rose Butler Browne Award for best demonstrating commitment to social service with youth in the community.
