| Devin E. Haqq is a native of Nashville, Tennessee and a graduate of the Alabama Shakespeare Festival's Professional Actor Training MFA program. He has performed in numerous stage productions, around the regional United States and New York City, most recently appearing Off-Broadway in the world premiere of Tina Howe's Singing Beach with Theatre 167. Devin also appeared in HBO's award winning ad campaign "Surprise", directed by Sam Mendes.
As an independent filmmaker, he made his directorial debut with The Assassin (2007), which played in several film festivals during the 2007-2008 season, including the 2007 Urbanworld Film Festival, 2008 Nashville Film Festivaland the 2008 Pan African Film Festival. His next feature project, Francis of Brooklyn, currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video, which he served as producer/assistant director, played in 9 festivals and won 4 awards, including Best Feature at the 2013 DIY Film Festival in Los Angeles. Devin's current project, Ambition’s Debt (2017) recently won the Grand Jury Award for Best Narrative Feature at the 2017 American Black Film Festival. |
